Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A jet carrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet landed in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, among them Pete Hegseth, is safe," an official representative said in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to Brussels at the time.
This incident is not the initial instance that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has suffered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was forced to head back to Washington after experiencing a technical issue.
